The Blood Coven World Novellas
Aeternals
Aeternals are breeds who pre-date Homo sapiens on Earth. Humans would call their breeds Vampires, Demons (seven tribes within their breed), Djinn, Berserkers, Incubi and Succubi, Nymphs and Satyrs, Mages, and Ylves. Their creator, the Genitrix Gahya, placed them upon Earth, but after centuries, they grew more cruel and more violent, feeding from humans, threatening the continued existence of mankind.
Each breed has distinct gifts, or powers, though all tend to be stronger than Homo sapiens and possess better sight, hearing, and smell. Each breed also survives on food but must supplement it with other nourishment—blood, soul, lifeforce, flesh, battle, arousal, orgasm, or energy.
The Alliance Security Agency
All employees at the agency have a distant Aeternal ancestor in their family tree. Once travel between the realms of Scath and Earth became possible, these humans created an organization to assist Aeternals. Their organization provides access to trade, assistance in returning Aeternals to their realm if they enter Earth illegally, and a lid on secrets about the breeds who once walked Earth. They operate a successful cover business, hiring out as bodyguards, private security, and soldiers of fortune.
Angor
Angor is a dimension of dark storms and unpredictable weather where immortals are sent for punishment by the winged assassins of the OneCreator. It also houses unworthy Aeternals after they die.
The Awakening
When an Aeternal assumes full power, usually in their early to mid-twenties, their breed marks the event with an Awakening ceremony.
Blood Coven
Led by the Cambion from Wales, these powerful Mages created three realms–Darque, Earth, and Scath–in AD 452 where only one had been before. They sent Aeternals to Scath, mystical creatures to Darque, and humans remained on Earth. It was the only way the two species would survive.
Blud Den
Blud dens are places that specialize in feeding all Aeternal breeds, not just Vampires. O blud dens are more specialized. Here a host takes a drug (most notably opium). An Aeternal feeds on the host’s blood, soul, lifeforce, orgasm, power, or arousal. The feeding provides a high while not being as addictive as taking the drug itself.
The Bludhunt
This violent ceremony marks the mating of two Vampires.
The Cede
This is the Aeternals’ funeral ceremony.
Darque
Darque is the realm of mystical creatures, home to harpies, questing beasts, Kalli, Spriggans, the Yeti, gagans, polar rats, hellhounds, and more.
D-chip
The Digital Implant Communication Chronometer is an amazing device embedded into the wrist of each Firebrand warrior and wired to their brains. Its functions are many–telepathic communicator between users, shadowflasher, GPS locator, emergency portal creator as long as the Firebrand is out-of-doors, a more efficient version of a portal jumper to allow travel through established gateways, temporary cell for captured offenders, and more.
Evermore
The Evermore is a dimension of serenity where worthy immortals or Aeternals go when they meet true death.
Freron
Freron is a term used by Firebrands to denote another brother- or sister-in-arms.
Gaffers
Like police, they manage the day-to-day minor crimes on Scath.
Karmic Schism
In AD 452, the Blood Coven cast spells to create and send Aeternals to Scath. At that time, they also created the realm of Darque for magical creatures.
The Path
The words of the warrior Ohngel as recorded by the Cambion from Wales are contained in five-volumes. These books relate tales of the salvation, the betrayal, the creation, the fall and rise, and the destiny of Aeternals.
Portal
At the time of the Karmic Schism, the Blood Coven created portals between Earth and Scath. These were gateways to and from the realms, not accessible by all. In the beginning only powerful and approved Mages could cast spells for travel. Later, GPS technology allowed for Portal Jumpers to be distributed to authorized Aeternals.
The River Am
The river defies explanation and natural laws. The Witch Indigo is the Guardian of Time who reads the river. Upstream, she sees possible futures. The middle course is the present. Downstream, from the just-past to the past, is the lower course. No one but Indigo knows its location.
The Prophecy of Karma
The fire-winged assassin Ohngel, who is the mentor/guide to the Cambion from Wales, found the scroll in a cave in the Vakataka Kingdom. It presaged a dark future for mankind and Aeternals.
Scath
Scath is the realm where Aeternals have lived since the Karmic Schism. Regions there include Aerilon (the Ylve region), Amori (the Incubus and Succubus region), Bludhaven (the Vampire region), Covenkirk (the seat of government, Mage region, and location of the Eastern Stronghold), Elysian Isle (the Nymph and Satyr region), The Encampment (the Amazon, Berserker, and Djinn region and location of the Southern Stronghold), Knife’s Edge (the Demon region), and North Shelters (the Shifter region and location of the Northern Stronghold).
Their governing bodies are realm-wide and regional. Realm-wide, the Lawgivers draft the laws for Scath. The Temple of Justice tries offenders. Ministries run by directors control various operations. The Ministry of Compliance regulates travel. The Ministry of Wildings and Realm regulates the Wildings and both realms’ natural resources, parks, and environments. The Ministry of Prosperity controls trade with Wildings and humans. The Ministry of Coin regulates finance and drafts the realm’s budget. The Ministry of Labor is concerned with worker welfare. The Ministry of Deathoperates prisons, the Cubes, and Outcast Keep on Darque, controls day-to-day crime and gaffers, and regulates the use of explosive weapons. The Ministry of Well Being is responsible for medical facilities, research, science, technology, and history. The Ministry of Culture regulates education, schools of magic, and Awakening ceremonies. The Ministry of the Shield, or the department of defense, is the only ministry that reports to the Temple of Justice rather than the Lawgivers. The Scion Firebrands are under its auspices.
Regional governments vary. Individual war councils guide the Amazons, Berserkers, and Djinn. The Demons have the Directorate of Seven. Incubi and Succubi have a monarchy. The Mage elect an assembly. The Dionysiagoverns the Nymphs and Satyrs. Shifters battle to be the Supreme Pack Alpha. The Bludcrown leads the Vampire Conclave. Ylves choose the Triumvirate of Three every fifty years.
Scion Firebrands
These males and females are the elite warriors of Scath who follow in the footsteps of an ancestor. Founded soon after the Karmic Schism, they protect Scath from the most violent Aeternals. As a side-gig, they also protect humans from the threat of Aeternals who escape to Earth and solve a multitude of problems on Darque. When Aeternals are called to join, the initiation begins with the Phoenix brand. It burns itself onto their upper left arms. They experience intense pain until they reach a decision. Join or reject the offer.
The Settling
The Settling is the Demon mating ceremony.
The Vast
The Vast is a dimension of clear skies and pleasant weather where immortals, such as Gahya and Gabriel, and the OneCreator reside.
The Whorl

Winged Assassins of the OneCreator
Aka The Feard, they or Michael are the only beings who can bring true death to an immortal. Ohngel, the Cambion’s mentor and guide, is the fire-winged assassin of the OneCreator
