What a great start to the new series. At the end of the Blood Coven Series, I’d hoped Roark’s winged assassins were next up for some of their own HEAs. Dominion makes for a seggsy one-eyed MMC and the FMC, Maddy, had an interesting twist as she transformed through the story. If you enjoy great world building, brooding immortals, and an FMC coming into her own, this is for you. As always, Smith is a descriptive writer who makes you feel drawn in. If you enjoy spicy paranormal romance, this is for you.

I really enjoy this author's work- you don't just read her books, you're transported into another world with each one. The characters are vivid and detailed- just like their stories! This is a great read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!

To say the two main characters change during the book would be an understatement. They bicker, challenge, and make each other better beings. The supporting characters are great too. Freki is so endearing and comical. Ohngel/Roark and Indigo are pure entertainment. There are several others, and they all add layers to the story. Just when you think you know what direction things are going to go, another unexpected event occurs. The love story between a hardened winged assassin and a strong-minded human is great, with numerous romantic moments. What they are willing to endure and do for their other half is remarkable and enviable for those in lesser relationships. This ends with multiple, very large cliffhangers, and I'm anxious to see where things go from here!.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I loved this. The pov of all the characters was great. Made it fun to read. The main characters were so good to see fall in love. Reading this I want to go back and read the series before just to understand some of the other characters.
